Special event callsigns GB70x will be on the air from Thursday, 2 June to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022, as part of the GB70 special event station project.
Over the Jubilee weekend (2-5 June), clubs in several locations around the British Isles will operate special callsigns. Some will be accessible to the public over the course of the Jubilee weekend.
And representing the Crown Dependencies, GB70U will operate from Guernsey, based at the Beau Sejour Leisure Centre in St Peter Port (Friday 3 and Saturday 4 June). The club running this station will be Guernsey Amateur Radio Society.
GB70 special event station teams from Wales (GB70W), Jersey (GB70J) and the Isle of Man (GB70D) will also operate during the weekend, but their locations won’t be accessible to the public.
After the Jubilee weekend (from 7 June), the GB70 callsigns will be on the air for parts of the month, activated by various RSGB affiliated clubs. More information can be found on the RSGB website and the relevant QRZ.com pages for the respective callsigns.
